South African Tourism is on a journey to being an insights-led organisation that is based on high quality research and analytics. The Strategy, Insights and Analytics (SIA) unit was established in 2017 to consolidate the knowledge bank of tourism information built up over the past decade or more, and scale up its resources to take up a leadership position in the provision of strategic and actionable insights for South African Tourism and the tourism sector.

Expression of interest to be part of SA Tourism Enterprise and Supplier Development

SA Tourism is embarking on an Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) journey which will advance the organisation’s transformation agenda. The organisation has developed an ESD framework as an implementation instrument for all our programmes. The main objectives of the ESD programme:

  • To act as a guiding instrument to the entity in providing support for the advancement of tourism enterprises, more especially the emerging and black owned enterprises;
  • To assist in further enhancement of tourism enterprises and suppliers’ capability to enhance destination offerings.
  • To address challenges faced by SMMEs in playing a meaningful role in the mainstream of the tourism sector.

Request for a proposal for assisting with the development of business plans for the Asia & Australasia region for 2019-20

SA Tourism is hereby extending an invitation to your firm, as part of a competitive bidding process, to submit a cost proposal for assisting SA Tourism develop robust, actionable and measurable business plans for the hubs in the Asia & Australasia region, i.e. India, Middle East and South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. SA Tourism is currently planning for the third year of implementing its five-year strategy and often needs to review past performance and improve its approach and implementation plans to ensure that it meets and exceeds its goals. The aim of the intervention to ensure that SA Tourism’s hubs in the region have a clear roadmap on the actions and activities to be undertaken to ensure that the set targets are achieved.
