Department Of Social Development Free State, The mission of the Free State Department of Social Development is to transform our society by building conscious and capable citizens through the provision of integrated social development services.





The Department’s objectives are: human dignity, which is a fundamental human right that must be protected in terms of the Constitution of South Africa, and facilitates freedoms, justice, and peace; respect, which is showing regard for one another and the people we serve and is a fundamental value for the realization of development goals; integrity, which is about ensuring that we are consistent with our values, principles, actions, and measures and, thus, generates trustworthiness among ourselves and with our stakeholders; fairness, which expresses our commitment to providing services to all South Africans without prejudice based on race, gender, religion or creed; and equality, which we seek to ensure equal access to services, participation of citizens in the decisions that affect their lives, and the pursuit of equity imperatives where imbalances exist.
