Department Of Science And Technology Region V, the Department of Science and Technology Region V (DOST V) gladly announces that the regional office and its Provincial Science and Technology Centers (PSTCs) regionwide are now accepting the application for the 2019 Junior Level Science Scholarships (JLSS). Deadline for submission of application is on 26 April 2019



There are three (3) types of S&T scholarship offerings:

  1. RA 10612 – a scholarship program that aims to strengthen the country’s S&T education by fast tracking graduates in the Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering to teach Science and Mathematics in secondary schools throughout the country; qualifiers are enrolled in state universities and colleges (SUCs) and other private higher education institutions (HEIs) with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) – compliant programs.
  2. RA 7687 – the scholarships are awarded to poor, talented and deserving students who belong to families where socio-economic status do not exceed the set value of certain indicators.
  3. Merit Scholarships – awarded to students with high aptitude in Science and Mathematics and are willing to pursue careers in the S&T fields.

Note: For Nos. 2&3, students are enrolled in SUCs; CHED identified Center of Excellence/Center of Development and institutions with the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) Level II Accreditation for S&T Program



Qualified applicants must be regular second year college students in identified S&T Program for the second semester, Academic Year (AY) 2018-2019 and meet the eligibility requirements as follows:



  • Natural-born Filipino citizen
  • Has General Weighted Average of at least 83% during first year and first semester of second year
  • Of good moral character and in good health
  • Poor, talented and deserving students (RA 7687 applicant)
  • Resident of municipality for the last 4years (RA 7687 applicant)
  • Qualifier of the 2019 JLSS examination

To be submitted are the following documentary requirements to DOST V or

nearest PSTC:

  1. Clear photocopy of Birth Certificate
  2. Official Transcript of Records (TOR) or True Copy of Grades (TCG) for first year and first semester of second year in college
  3. Clear photocopy of 2018 Income Tax Return (ITR)/W2 if parents are employed or own business/Employment Contract for OFW or Original copy of BIR Certification of Tax Exemption/Municipal/Barangay Certification of Non-Employment if parents are unemployed or no fixed income (RA 7687 applicant)
  4. Clear photocopy of January, February and March 2019 electric bill (RA 7687 applicant)
  5. Two (2) pieces 1”x1” picture
  6. Photocopy of any document containing the DepEd Learner Reference Number (High School Diploma or Form 137)
  7. Affidavit of Guardianship, if with legal guardian
  8. Non-refundable test fee of 200.00 (Merit applicant)

  1. Application form includes the certification
